Hysko

Hysko joined Hip Hop collective UnderCover Prophecy (UCP) as a dancer shortly after its establishment in 1991 and eventually progressed to record vocals for the collective as they began to create their early studio recordings. As the 1990s progressed Hysko also recorded, performed live, and released music with Milton Keynes Hip Hop collective True Element. The below image was taken in 1992 and pictures Hysko (3rd from right) with several other members and affiliates of UCP.

UCP – Buckingham, 1992.

UCP were primarily a graffiti collective and dance troop that performed as a pastime in and around Buckingham during the early 1990s. As the collective slowly became established DJs Trail One and Delta began to explore music production with rapper Kraze One which eventually resulted in a completed studio recording entitled “The final assault” that featured Hysko on vocals. DJ Trail One

DJ Trail One discovered Hip Hop music and culture as a youth during the late 1980s and became a participant in several of its elements during 1991 when he formed Hip Hop collective UnderCover Prophecy (UCP) with DJ Delta and Kraze One.  As the 1990s progressed DJ Trail One began to elaborate on his Hip Hop foundations and by 1994 had establish himself as a Jungle artist forming part of the Gunstar Hero’s collective with DJ Halo and Adam from Redline records.

UCP formed during the summer of 1991 and shortly after DJ Trail One and the other members began to establish the collective by creating several pieces of graffiti artwork in and around their hometown of Buckingham located on the outskirts of Milton Keynes. By the end of 1991 UCP had created a local street presence and expanded to incorporate several other artists, taggers, rappers and dancers all of which attended Buckingham secondary school during 1991-1992. PXTN Design

PXTN is a local artist that helped pioneer graffiti art during the early 1990s in and around his hometown of Buckingham located on the outskirts of Milton Keynes. Throughout the 1990s PXTN worked under several aliases to create a combination of local murals, flyers, posters, cassette covers and items of clothing that were all inspired by Hip Hop’s element of graffiti art. PXTN also experimented with other elements of Hip Hop culture including scratch DJing and Emceeing.

PXTN discovered Hip Hop music and culture during the 1980s as a child and by 1990 at around age 14 began to create his first pieces of artwork using spray paint. Although PXTN created several murals previous to the “Risk” image shown below this photograph taken in 1990 is the first evidence we have of PXTN’s early work. The below “Risk” piece was painted along the old railway line in Buckingham when PXTN was using the alias Risk One.
