Mr Lusta

Mr Lusta discovered Hip Hop music and culture during the 1980s and became a participant in several of its elements throughout the 1990s. in 1991 while attending Buckingham secondary school Mr Lusta (then known as Escape) joined Buckingham Hip Hop collective UnderCover Prophecy (UCP). As the 1990s progressed Mr Lusta studied sound recording and co wrote\produced music for local Hip Hop crews Phase 4, Crazy Options and True Element.

By the early 1990s Mr Lusta who at the time was using the name tag Escape had already begun experimenting with graffiti art, street dancing and rapping. Kraze One approached Mr Lusta shortly after UCP formed and invited him to contribute to the project. UCP were primarily a street dance and graffiti collective that evolved to incorporate the creation of Hip Hop music. Mr Lusta contributed to the establishment of UCP as a local Hip Hop crew. Crazy Options

Crazy Options were a collective of Hip Hop practitioners based in Buckingham located on the outskirts of Milton Keynes. The members (Danny Cooli, DJ Halo, Kraze One, Mr Lusta) collaborated on several events, live performances, recordings and releases during the mid to late 1990s. The group name originated from a piece of artwork created by Mr Lusta that was displayed at the collectives first event held in a bar called Tudor Rock located on the Buckingham high street during the mid 1990s.

Crazy Options initially formed as a DJ collective during the summer of 1995. After organising and playing at several local events an opportunity to create a studio recording was presented which resulted in the group’s first unofficial demo entitled “Take a look around”. At the time of its creation Kraze One and Mr Lusta were studying sound recording part time at Audio lab studio located in Buckingham and as part of the course structure they were able to create a recording using the studio equipment. UnderCover Prophecy (UCP)

UnderCover Prophecy (UCP) were a Hip Hop collective from Buckingham that formed in 1991 and consisted of DJ Delta, DJ Trail One, Kraze OneEscape, Krome 2, Hysko, Assault, M-zime, KauseAmmo, Jedi, Crusade, J Rapz, Wooly, and Impact. All members of UCP attended Buckingham secondary school during 1991 and were either participating in street dancing or graffiti tagging. Several of the groups members would progress to participate in Graffiti art, Rapping, DJ’ing and Producing.

UCP was originally formed in the summer of 1991 by DJ Delta, DJ Trail One and Kraze One. The inspiration and idea to form as a Hip Hop crew was down to aspiring DJs Trail One and Delta who prior to forming as UCP were already piecing together DJ equipment. DJs Trail One and Delta approached Kraze One who reluctantly agreed to become the rapper for the crew. The three founding members came up with the name UnderCover Prophecy (UCP). Continue reading
