Rapper and producer Judge Wizely was actively creating music in Milton Keynes during the early 1990s. Judge Wizely formed Hip Hop collective The W.I.Z.E Crew that incorporated several vocalists, DJs and Dancers all connected to the local Hip Hop scene. Recordings by Judge Wizely and The W.I.Z.E Crew were released during the early 1990s via a series of vinyl EPs entitled “Kuppa Soop” on 2’E’Z Records.

By 1991 Judge Wizely and The W.I.Z.E Crew were regularly performing in and around Milton Keynes at local Hip Hop events. The collective had also created several demo recordings that began to circulate among local Hip Hop fans via an unofficial cassette tape know as “The W.I.Z.E tape“.
