Justice Element

The Justice Element crew formed at Buckingham sixth form collage during the last months of 1993. Musically Justice Element consisted of rapper MC Killa Joul, DJ Crime Plate and Kraze One who contributed to the project as a rapper, DJ and Producer. As Justice Element progressed on the local music scene and started to perform live the line up expanded to include Claire & Lydia (The funky dancers), T-boz, Lyrical Mic, Big Swede and various members of the local Hip Hop community.

Prior to the groups formation Kraze One was creating demo recordings using community DJ equipment at the Buckingham youth center. In early 1994 Kraze One and MC Killa Joul developed some of these ideas further using a single turntable and a microphone recording live to cassette tapes. Shortly after DJ Crime Plate obtained his own turntables and Justice Element began to perform live at local music events which helped establish the group on the local music scene. Continue reading

Asiatic Soul

The Asiatic Soul break dance crew formed in Milton Keynes during the early 1980s and consisted of Farhan Sheik, Kalpesh, Kamal, John Waden, Raymond, Mixmaster MSC and Rolek One. Asiatic Soul frequently performed in an area known as City square located in Central Milton Keynes which was eventually developed in to the shopping complex currently inhabited by Marks & Spenser.

Asiatic Soul formed while attending Woughton school (now know as MK Academy) and were one of several Hip Hop crews to emerge as the newly established city of Milton Keynes began to be populated. Underground Graffiti Art Mural Buckingham University

The below photos were taken in 1994 of a graffiti art mural entitled “Underground” that was painted in the break out area of a building called the Old Town Mill (OTM) that forms part of the Buckingham university campus.

The OTM is located between Hunter Street and the River Ouse in the town of Buckingham Situated on the outskirts of Milton Keynes. At the time of writing this article the OTM still forms part of the Buckingham university campus.

The pictures in this article were taken by DJ Kraze One in 1994 but it has not been possible to identify the artist or the exact year that the mural was created. Due to its location the mural remained untouched until it was painted over in the late 1990s. Continue reading
